The Rome Termini main railway station
The central railway station in the ethernal city, Rome Termini station, is the main hub of the city, and the second largest in Europe (by number of passengers each year).
The name, Rome Termini, comes from the "Terme di Diocleaziano", which are just some meters away from the station.
The first station was constructed by the late XIX century, but the actual one has been opened to the public in 1950. Recent restoration inside has made of the station a very modern one, with dedicated tracks to the airports and ports of the city. In fact, from the Air Terminal, departs trains to the main airport of Rome, Fiumicino Leonardo Airport, and to the main port of Rome, Civitavecchia port.
Trains links also the second airport of the city, Ciampino Airport, the one with higher low-cost flies traffic.
